SquatEx: A Squat Exergame using Pneumatic Gel Muscle-based Dynamic Difficulty Adjustment

In this research, we proposed a squat exergame with the novel technique of DDA using PGM-based assistance and resistance. This user study was conducted with 14 healthy participants for comparing the effectiveness of the training with a previously developed exergame protocol. This study also takes the advantages of studying the relationship between physical and psychological load which indicates the effects of stress levels during the training. The comparative results of squat parameters showed that the proper squat posture was maintained with the reduction of knee shakiness. The reduced GSR levels showed lowered emotional stress with the implementation of DDA technique.
